Rebuilding and Renewal

This Sunday, July 7th, will be my first official Sunday worshipping with you as your lead pastor. I am very grateful for you and your prayerful support over the last several months that have brought my family and I to this exciting season in the life of Oxlip Church.

As we look ahead to Sunday, I am reflecting on this new season in the life of our church and the wonderful opportunity the Lord has placed before us. As Pastor Gerald noted in last Sunday’s sermon, we as a church must begin this new journey together with the end in mind that will testify of the faithfulness of Christ as He shapes our church into who He wants us to become.

In light of this, I will begin a 4-part series this Sunday out of the book of Haggai entitled:
Rebuilding and Renewal.

In that account, God’s people began working on the Lord’s temple with excitement; however, as so often happens with many of us today, the excitement wore off and attention was diverted from the Lord’s work. My hopeful prayer is that this text (and the entire series) will encourage us at Oxlip to continue keeping our sights on the Lord’s greater purpose in this next season for His glory.

I look forward to worshiping with you this Lord’s Day!

In Christ,

Joel
