On Saturday, March 16th the men of Oxlip put on a feast for the men of the church and the wider community. The Trophies of Grace crew (Northern Division) presented the monstrous racks of several trophy white tail bucks – Terry Baxter of GoServ Global also spoke of the “sin wire buck”, his own trophy, which had ten feet of wire fencing entangled in its antlers, in a moving spiritual analogy to our own state as men entangled in sin, with the only hope of freedom found in Jesus Christ.
Besides the feast of hunting stories and good news, there was also a feast of epic proportions from the hors d'oeuvres of goose, venison sausage, cheese & wild rice soup to the venison meat loaf, meatballs, and stew along with the always delicious venison steak stir fry on the buffet line, not to mention the man sized brownies and ice cream that were for dessert!
The evening was concluded with the drawings for the various raffles, conclusion of the silent auction and the always exciting live auction!
Funds raised this year go to sponsoring a “Safe T Home”. A hurricane proof living space for a family in need in either Haiti or Africa.
In all, a fantastic night of celebrating God’s graciousness and supply through His creation! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped and to those who participated.
